My first WordPress plugin is released!

August 19, 2020 • Random

One of the items in my bucket list, is to publish a WordPress plugin at their plugin repository. And I’m happy to say that I finally got my plugin reviewed and published!

By now I have learned that planning to publish a featurefull plugin often ends up in backburner. This time, the plugin I wrote is very simple and small in size. But we have to start somewhere, right?

The plugin, called “Edit Lock”, does only one thing: to lock posts from being edited.

Though small, it’s a huge progress for me. Because by publishing a WordPress plugin, I learned quite a lot of intricacies of it. There, I got to learn and come up with the best code structure that works for me, find out about WP IO validation and sanitation, get to use their SVN server for publishing with some special formatting so it come up nicely on their directory, as well as reading their interesting and ultra friendly persona in how they wrote emails.

Anyway, please check out my newest WordPress plugin: Edit Lock!
